I’m J.D. West.
Some of you know me by other names, but in the Gilded Frontier, names are just labels the System gives you until you’re strong enough to choose your own. The “J.D.”? It stands for the Johns who came before me, the trailblazers and lawmen in my bloodline—and for the “John Does” who start at Level 1 with nothing but a rusted iron and a choice to make.
I write stories about the intersection of Grit and Glitches.
In my worlds, the frontier isn’t just a place on a map; it’s a test of the soul. Whether it’s a disgraced Marshal fighting a parasitic AI in The Truth of the Trail, or an adventurer navigating the hilarious absurdity of an overzealous, clumsy hero with a good heart in Questly, my goal is always the same: to give you a story with high stats, sharp snark, and a deep, resonant soul.
